T4 has failed to come into leaf this Spring which is a cause for concern and a good indicator that the tree if suffering from stress. Whilst there were no signs of fungal activity at the time of the inspection, there is a large stem wound with decay on the main stem, and the levels around the base appear to have been raised in the past, as the basal flare was not present. It is suspected that this tree has a very limited life expectancy and as such has been recommended for complete removal to eliminate its risk. T2 has come into leaf this year, and whilst there are signs of dieback and sparseness in the western section of canopy, and the levels being raised around the base, it is hoped that the progress of decline can be significantly reduced, so that the tree can be retained. However, initially it is recommended that this tree be re-inspected during late Autumn 2025, for signs of fungal activity, at which point the most suitable course of action for this tree can be confirmed. The removal of the tree may be beneficial and have a positive impact on the overall tree, if retained the tree will be carefully monitored on an annual basis. T1 and T3 were noted to be in an acceptable condition at the time of the assessment, with no visible defects present. As such, no work has been recommended for these two trees at this time.
